(1873-1925) Грин, Уильям
Профсоюзный деятель. В молодости был активистом Объединенного профсоюза шахтеров Америки [United Mine Workers of America]. С 1912 член исполкома АФТ [AFL], в 1924 сменил Гомперса [Gompers, Samuel] на посту председателя АФТ. Выступал за сотрудничество профсоюзов и предпринимателей, против проникновения коммунистов и радикалов в профсоюзы, за усиление ремесленных профсоюзов [craft union], против слияния АФТ и КПП [CIO]. Многократно занимал посты в руководящих органах президентской администрации
